Statement of faith

Lifeway Baptist School is a ministry of Lifeway Baptist Church, and as such holds to our confession of faith and an historical, biblical Christian worldview. We seek to give instruction to children and youth from a strictly biblical framework that is, at the core, Christ-centered. To this end, we affirm the following as true:

The bible

God's Will for Man: The Bible is God's plan for man. It is a story of redemption from the beginning of time until Christ returns. It was inspired by God, therefore is truth and without error.

Matthew 22:29, Romans 15:4

The trinity

Three in One God exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity serves different functions in order to accomplish His overall will.

James 2:19, John 5:21-23

The father

God is Great: God is unchanging. He is the great I Am. He is all-knowing and worthy of our praise. He offered His son that we might have eternal life.

Exodus 3:14, Psalms 11:4-6, John 3:16

The Son

Our Only Hope: Only through belief in Him can we have a righteous relationship with the Father.

Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 3:17, 8:29

The Holy spirit

Our Comforter: He leads, guides, and directs God's purpose to make right decisions in this life.

Genesis 1:2, Mark 1:10, John 15:26-29

Eternal Destiny

After This Life: Eternity is either spent in Heaven or Hell. God's desire is that all people dwell in Heaven. Hell is the eternal destination for those who refuse to accept God's grace through Jesus.

John 3:16, 1 John 2:25, Revelation 20:15

The Man

God's Greatest Creation: We are created in God's own image, God's desire is to fellowship with His creation. Our sin stands in the way. There is nothing we can do of ourselves to restore what sin has caused.

Genesis 1:26-30, Isaiah 6:5, Romans 1:19-32

Salvation

Only by God's Grace: Salvation is a gift, therefore it cannot be earned. Only by heartfelt belief in the work of Christ on the cross can it be received. No one is good enough, nor is any religion righteous enough to give what only Jesus can give.

Isaiah 1:18, 55:7, Luke 1:68-69, Ephesians 2:8-10

The Church

The Local Community: The church is a visible body of baptized believers committed to carrying the message of hope in Christ to a lost world.

Matthew 16:18-19, Acts 2:41-47

marriage

We believe the Biblical definition of marriage is the union between a man and a woman.

Genesis 2:21-24; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9; 1 Corinthians 7:2-4; Ephesians 5:22-31

gender identity

We believe God designates each individual their gender. God ordained two genders, male and female.

Genesis 1:27, 5:2; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6; Job 40:8; Jeremiah 13:23
